WG21 Other Working Groups (OWGs)

WG21 has formed a number of 'Other Working Groups' with remits to drive the development of standards related to Software Asset Management, conduct investigations into the need for and requirements of potential standards, and to drive evangelism of Software Asset Management.  You may contact most of these OWGs directly if you are interested in their respective areas of responsibility. 
 
The following OWGs exist as of 30 October 2009:

  • 19770-2 OWG. Website: Convener Steve Klos. (Email Steve.klos@agnitioadvisors.com) Current responsibility is to help bring ISO/IEC 19770-2:2009 to market.  (Passed its final vote in October 2009.)
  • 19770-3 OWG.  Website: http://www.sassafras.com/iso/  Convener John Tomeny.  (Email <johnt@sassafras.com>) Responsibility is to develop the standard for the Software Entitlement Tag.
  • Staged SAM OWG.  Convener David Phillips. (Email davidp@theiet.org) Responsibility is to develop a staged version of ISO/IEC 19770-1:2006.
  • Embedded Systems Tag OWG (ESTOWG).  Convener Dr Swarup Mandal.  (Email:swm_ind@yahoo.co.in) Responsibility is to study and explore the possibilities of standardizing the identification TAG for software in embedded software application domain.
  • Adaptability Tag OWG.  Website: http://Adaptability-OWG.org Convener Norbert Bollow.  Responsibility is to assess the requirements of a standard for tags to facilitate the adaptability of software.
  • Evangelism OWG.  Convener Scott Lemm.  Responsibility is to coordinate and drive evangelism for SAM standards.
